Throughout 2020, our debut magical realism novel, So Queer and Fair, will be regularly posted online, completely free! Release schedule below, but first, a teaser:

Every fourth Wednesday, we will be uploading another chapter from So Queer and Fair, culminating in a full e-book that will be available for purchase by the end of the year, as well as an audiobook read by the author coming in 2021. Plus, as part of Zenith Books’ devotion to making representation accessible, the full novel will continue to be available for free online, whether you purchase the e-book or not, and the audiobook will be downloadable with any donation, including the option to get it for free.

Set in a liminal town that blurs the line between mundane and magical, the first installment in the Hallodale Trilogy follows Gale Hoffman, the question mark emoji incarnate (or maybe the shrug emoji; he can’t decide).

Between figuring out who he is, where he belongs, and if his best friend is still his friend anymore, he also has to discover whether his birth father was actually murdered by cultists or if that’s just a conspiracy theory the rest of his birth family believes.

His birth family, by the way, includes both a literal dragon and a convicted murderer, so that’s a thing. Almost makes him miss when his biggest concern was how to come out in a gossipy town too small for a movie theatre, much less a PFLAG chapter.
