Dallon wrote and illustrated his first story, ‘Arthur in the Land of Pokémon’, in the first grade, and the storytelling beast that was then loosed within him was never vanquished, only barely tamed.
Having grown up devouring everything from ‘Star Trek’ and ‘Star Wars’ to ‘The Labyrinth’ and ‘The Lord of the Rings’ to ‘Beauty and the Beast’ and ‘Oliver and Company’, the juxtaposition of everyday and extraordinary is his hearth and home. He hopes to someday have a husband like Wolf from ‘The Tenth Kingdom’, but wouldn’t say no to one like Josh from ‘Clueless’.
Some of his favorite stories and series include:
- Animorphs by K. A. Applegate
- Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Sáenz
- Captive Prince by C.S. Pacat
- Carry On by Rainbow Rowell
- Carve the Mark by Veronica Roth
- False Memory by Dan Krokos
- If I Was Your Girl by Meredith Russo
- Minders by Michele Jaffe
- Mindwalker by A. J. Steiger
- Renegades by Marissa Meyer
- Simon Vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli
- The Rest of Us Just Live Here by Patrick Ness
- The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller
He won’t say which of those favorites are his favorite favorites, but all of those authors are names he would love to share a front cover with.
If the very concept of money were done away with, and everyone could do anything they wanted with their time and energy, Dallon would still create and share the stories he has inside him, hoping that each would allow those who experience them to discover the extraordinary inside of them, no matter how everyday their surroundings.
